Many trainers have come up to me and asked how I can set up a Silph Road Traveller Card to obtain badges for community day. To put it frank, the Silph Road’s website does not do a good job in explaining, therefore hopefully this article can help!
- Go to https://thesilphroad.com/card. You should be redirected to an authentication screen.
- Authenticate using your reddit or gmail account. If you have neither, I highly suggest creating a reddit account, as it’s the easiest to set up.
- If you’re using reddit, allow The Silph Road to access your reddit account.
- You’ll be directed back to The Silph Road’s website and will begin the setup process. Read the introduction, and then click “Next”.
- Click “OK!”
- Type in your Pokemon GO username (IGN) and your age, then click “DONE!”
- Click “BEGIN”.
- Type in your email address, then click “SOUNDS GOOD!”.
- Click on “LET’S GO!”.
- Identify the region you’re in (Winnipeg). Zoom the map out first to see the entire map, then zoom into Winnipeg and tap to place a market there. Click “ALL DONE!”.
- Click “I’M DONE!”. You’ll be directed to set up your card.
- From here, you can do a lot of things, but at the minimum you’ll need to type in your trainer name, team, and current XP. You can also link your Discord account to your traveller card, merge accounts, indicate how visible you want your traveller card, or fill as little (or as much) as you want about yourself. Maybe show off your six favourite Pokémon? Your playstyle? Your current goals? There’s lots of possibilities here!
- When you’re done, click on “SAVE DETAILS”, and everything will be saved. Your traveller card can now be accessed via sil.ph/(your account name). On community day, you can handshake with others using the handshake button on your card to generate a code, and the code will also be needed to check-in to receive your community day badge!
Hopefully this helps! If you’re still having trouble setting up your traveller card but want to, arrive at any of our sites early, and one of the community leaders will be glad to assist you.
