Winnipeg EX Eligible Gyms Map Released!

Trainers,

Your community staff, with assistance from some of Winnipeg’s tech-savvy Pokémon GO players, have put together a map of all EX Eligible Gyms in the city!

If you’re interested in acquiring EX raid passes for Mewtwo raid opportunities, consider focusing your daily raid grind on the gyms highlighted in the map below. It may be wise to bookmark this post so you can refer to it at any time.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the admins on Discord.

Silph Road Traveller Cards have arrived, and PegCity Raids is now part of The Silph League!

As many of you might know, the Silph Road has recently released traveller cards for all Pokémon GO players.

More information can be found here, and we do plan to implement the handshake feature during our raid parade this Saturday! Therefore, all trainers attending the raid parade are highly recommended to sign up and create their own traveller card. If you aren’t attending the raid parade, you should still create your own traveller card and grow your network by connecting with other players you meet in raids.

Also, the PegCity Raids Discord page has been added to The Silph League, a community map that visually shows all the Discord servers across the world. If any Winnipeg Pokémon GO players end up travelling to different cities or regions to play, definitely consider using The Silph League to connect to their respective Discord channels.

Hope to connect with you soon!

Kyogre released! Magic numbers and counters for Kyogre

Kyogre has been released in Pokémon GO! As of 4:01pm, the first Kyogre raid in Winnipeg popped up at 17 Wing Post Office, near the Airport. The new legendary pokémon will be out until February 14th.

Kyogre is a water-type legendary pokémon that will likely replace Gyarados as your top water-type attacker. It is the 5th best attacker in the game so far, compared to 27th for Gyarados, and has a higher max CP compared to the atrocious pokémon.

The counters for Kyogre are similar to counters for any water types, however trainers should be aware of Kyogre’s charge moves. For instance, while using Exeggutor and Sceptile may be tempting, Kyogre has access to Blizzard, which is super effective against grass types.

One can never go wrong using Raikou and Zapdos against Kyogre, however for those who don’t have enough candies to power those two up, other good options include Jolteon, Ampharos, and Magneton with electric moves. Exeggutor, Sceptile, and Venusaur with grass moves are good choices if Kyogre does not have Blizzard. Groudon with Solar Beam may be a good option if Kyogre does not have Hydro Pump.

The magic numbers for Kyogre are the same as Groudon. 2328 max CP for a non-boosted Kyogre, while a boosted Kyogre would be 2910 max CP. However, seeing it’s winter, the chances of engaging with a boosted Kyogre is quite low.

Hope everyone enjoys raiding and catching Kyogre! Stay tuned for an event in the works from your community organizers.

Regional migration? Seviper spawns reported in Winnipeg!

Trainers,

Multiple reports are coming in on Seviper spawns in Winnipeg, and in places where Zangoose used to spawn. With that, it appears Seviper and Zangoose may have switched their regional locations, with Seviper available in the western hemisphere, and Zangoose available in the east.

This is the first time regional pokémon have seen a migration. As of right now, no other regionals have ever migrated aside from specific events.

If you spotted and caught a Seviper, feel free to share your captures on Facebook!
