The next wave of gen 3 Pokémon was released on January 23rd! 23 new Pokémon that mostly consist of desert biome types have been added to Pokémon GO. Now that many trainers have had most of the day and night to catch these new pokémon, we can determine the following facts:
- Whismur and Aron are the two common spawns in this wave
I definitely expected Whismur to be a common spawn, but Aron somewhat surprised me. Its fully evolved form, Aggron, does have a place in the meta, so don’t be surprised to see many Aggrons in gyms very soon.
- The Aron family can be shiny
Similar to the first 3 gen 3 waves, the fourth gen 3 wave brought a new shiny to the game: The Aron family. A shiny Aron has red eyes instead of blue. Shiny Lairons and Aggrons both have green bodys as opposed to black ones.
- Aggron is a level 4 raid boss, with a CP range of 1636 to 1716 for non-weather boost and 2045 to 2145 for weather boost
Aggron has been spotted as a level 4 raid boss. It is not known yet whether Aggron replaced a level 4 raid boss or is a new addition. It can also be caught shiny.
With Aggron being a level 4 raid boss, there are now 10 possible raid bosses to spawn from level 4 eggs.
- Solrock, Lunatone, and Torkoal are regional pokémon
Solrock can be caught in the Americas and Africa, while Lunatone can be caught in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Torkoal has been spotted in South and Southeast Asia countries including India, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
- Some of the new wave of gen 3 pokémon hatch from eggs
