Episode 22 of PegCity Pokémon GO: How did we do in speculating Quests?
Episode 22 of PegCity Pokémon GO has been released, after a one month hiatus from video uploading!
This episode was intended to be uploaded before quests were released, but were instead uploaded an hour before Quests were handed out. So treat this as a “how close were some community leaders in speculating what quests will involve?”.
Enjoy!
How to set up your Silph Road Traveller Card
Many trainers have come up to me and asked how I can set up a Silph Road Traveller Card to obtain badges for community day. To put it frank, the Silph Road’s website does not do a good job in explaining, therefore hopefully this article can help!
- Go to https://thesilphroad.com/card. You should be redirected to an authentication screen.
- Authenticate using your reddit or gmail account. If you have neither, I highly suggest creating a reddit account, as it’s the easiest to set up.
- If you’re using reddit, allow The Silph Road to access your reddit account.
- You’ll be directed back to The Silph Road’s website and will begin the setup process. Read the introduction, and then click “Next”.
- Click “OK!”
- Type in your Pokemon GO username (IGN) and your age, then click “DONE!”
- Click “BEGIN”.
- Type in your email address, then click “SOUNDS GOOD!”.
- Click on “LET’S GO!”.
- Identify the region you’re in (Winnipeg). Zoom the map out first to see the entire map, then zoom into Winnipeg and tap to place a market there. Click “ALL DONE!”.
- Click “I’M DONE!”. You’ll be directed to set up your card.
- From here, you can do a lot of things, but at the minimum you’ll need to type in your trainer name, team, and current XP. You can also link your Discord account to your traveller card, merge accounts, indicate how visible you want your traveller card, or fill as little (or as much) as you want about yourself. Maybe show off your six favourite Pokémon? Your playstyle? Your current goals? There’s lots of possibilities here!
- When you’re done, click on “SAVE DETAILS”, and everything will be saved. Your traveller card can now be accessed via sil.ph/(your account name). On community day, you can handshake with others using the handshake button on your card to generate a code, and the code will also be needed to check-in to receive your community day badge!
Hopefully this helps! If you’re still having trouble setting up your traveller card but want to, arrive at any of our sites early, and one of the community leaders will be glad to assist you.

Bulbasaur Community Day: Finding community organizers, check-in, 50/50, and more!
Community Day is coming up this Sunday, and trainers are excited to have a chance to catch Bulbasaur and acquire its exclusive move for Venusaur, Frenzy Plant! Your PegCity leaders will be scattered across the three main spots (Assiniboine Park, St. Vital Park, and The Forks) during the event. Tentative to change, the event organizers will be divided as follows:
Assiniboine Park (Duck Pond Pavilion) – Alex (voodoo9999), Calvin (vb5215)
The Forks (Market) – Drew (dorianenigma), Forrest (FoxxPyre), Remy (KingLibrus)
St. Vital Park (Pavilion) – Britt (BoxerBritt), Catherine (MeowGoesKitKat), David (daviddrako1962), Rachel (NuggetDFTBA), Tara (candycoatedice)
Event organizers will be at the above locations from one hour before event start to one hour after (12 to 5pm).
By visiting any of these three sites and finding any of the event organizers, you will receive the following services:
- A March Community Day badge on your Silph Road traveller card if you check-in with any community organizer using your Silph Road account. If you don’t have a traveller card or a Silph Road account set up yet, there will be an article by midweek on how to set up an account!
- Handshakes with event organizers to add to your in-person network on your Silph Road traveller card. To minimize the chance of the site crashing and to maximize your chance to catch the event pokémon, we will only check-in and do handshakes before 1pm or after 4pm.
- 50/50 draw, with proceeds going to fund current operating costs, future PegCity merchandise, events, and incidentals. Tickets will be 1 for $2 and 3 for $5. Tickets from all three locations will be pooled for the grand prize draw, which will be live streamed.
- Popcorn for some energy while driving/walking and catching!
- …and maybe some awesome prizes!
If you have any questions about the event, feel free to contact any of the event organizers. See everyone on Sunday!
Lugia re-released and raid boss shuffles once again!
Rayquaza has left the Pokémon GO universe, and Lugia has returned along with other new and returning raid bosses!
With the return of Lugia, other raid bosses that seem to target Lugia’s weaknesses have made an appearance. These include the following:
Tier 2 – Electabuzz, Manectric
Tier 3 – Gengar, Jolteon, Jynx
Tier 4 – Golem
Most trainers probably know that due to Lugia’s high bulk, you need a minimum of 4 trainers to take it down without weather boost. Most casual trainers will likely need 7-8 to take Lugia down. However, Lugia can be taken down with 3 trainers, without weather boost, if all 3 trainers have high level Raikous and some luck goes their way. Otherwise, Lugia can be taken down with 3 trainers in rainy or foggy conditions.
Some new changes with Lugia include the change with Sky Attack from 70 attack to 80, and the fact Lugia can now be caught shiny.
As for the other raid bosses, a raid boss of note is the return of Jolteon. When Jolteon was first released as a raid boss, it was the only tier 3 raid boss that cannot be soloed.
Cannot no more.
With the release of Groudon, Jolteon can now be soloed, without weather boost, using two high level Groudons and a high level Rayquaza. It can also be soloed with weather boost with Rhydon, Golem, or Entei in clear weather, and Dragonite, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, or Salemence in windy weather.
You have until April 2nd to catch Lugia and its shiny variant. Get out there and good luck, trainers!
